A gravitational singularity (sometimes spacetime singularity) is, approximately, a place where quantities which are used to measure the gravitational field become infinite. Such quantities include the curvature of spacetime or the density of matter. More accurately, a spacetime with a singularity contains geodesics which cannot be completed in a smooth manner. The limit of such a geodesic is the singularity.
The two most important types of spacetime singularities are curvature singularities and conical singularities. Singularities can also be divided according to whether they are covered by an event horizon or not (naked singularities). According to general relativity the initial state of the universe, at the beginning of the Big Bang, was a singularity, or single point. Another type of singularity predicted by general relativity is inside a black hole: any star collapsing beyond a certain point would form a black hole, inside which a singularity (covered by an event horizon) would be formed, as all the matter would flow into a certain point (or a circular line, if the black hole is rotating). These singularities are curvature singularities.

Theoretical reductionism
Theoretical reductionism has two definitions. In the first definition it is the idea that the terms of a theory of science A referring to objects at a higher level of complexity than the objects of science B can be replaced by the terms of science B.
In the second definition of theoretical reductionism the older theories or explanations are not generally replaced outright by new ones, but new theories are refinements or reductions of the old theory into more efficacious forms with greater detail and explanatory power. The older theories are supposedly absorbed into the newer ones and they can be deductively derived from the latter.

How to look at a painting:
In The Flat Field
1) Go beyond the surface- style of representation-seek substance-beyond schematics- if nothing interests move on to the next work
2) Turn off internal dialogue- shut up! How can you listen to someone else when you keep talking
3) Do not look at things as they appear literally- in the work- rather as in a dream like state
4) experience the work- yes paintings are quiet- it is a visual language
5) Let it marinate in your subconscious- usually the best works may confront you on first viewing- you may not have any reference points to hold on to

Minimalist Braised Cabbage
1 Head of Green Cabbage- remove stem core, cut into halfs and then halves again=1/4 section then cut accross to create 1-2" pieces (chop any tougher pieces into smaller bits)
1/4 cup olive oil
Seasoned salt, Kosher salt, dried parsley flakes and fresh ground pepper-1/2 tsp each
Over medium heat olive oil in large frying pan. Add chopped Head O' Cabbage, season, stir, cover for 10 min. remove cover and stir, lower heat to simmer. Braise 20- min until very tender stirring occasionally for consistant heating and carmelization.
Serve with Potatoe, Sour cream and Chive Pierogies ( Mrs T.) Roast Chicken or Braised Pork Roast.

When I was a child, there was a dry cleaners a block from my home named Jupiter Cleaners. It had a very cool neon sign- with elliptical rings. I always liked to ride my bike past the drycleaners smelling the unatural chemical odor and imagining myself within Jupiters magnetic gravity pull.
